Jaakko Niemelä

Jaakko has 20 years of experience in Corporate Finance business and related versatile and demanding tasks. He has been with Aktia Alexander since 2003, when he started his role as CEO. Before his career at Aktia Alexander, he worked as CEO and chief analyst at Mandatum Pankkiiriliike, chief analyst at Pankkiiriliike Protos and chief analyst and investment analyst at Opstock Pankkiiriliike for a total of about 10 years. Jaakko’s key tasks at Aktia Alexander include, in addition to the role of CEO, responsibility for client sales, key institutional investor contacts, and working as a valuation expert.

During his career, Jaakko has been involved in the production of seven different books related to valuation and investing, for example: Yrityksen arvonmääritys, Yrityskauppa (valuation section) and Ammattimainen sijoittaminen. He also has experience as a regular educator and chairman of valuation-related seminars, for example at the seminars of the following providers: SanomaPro, Talentum lakikoulutus and Verohallinto. In addition, during his career, Jaakko has served in several key positions of trust, such as for example as a member of the board of PKC Group Oyj, deputy member of the board of the Helsinki Stock Exchange (now OMX Nasdaq Helsinki), and as a member of the board of the Arvopaperivälittäjien yhdistys APVY. Jaakko holds a D.Sc. (Econ.) degree (accounting/finance) from the University of Vaasa.
