Description of the reference
Logistics company Avind International Ltd expanded its operations in early 2024 by acquiring two companies specialising in container transport, MEK-Trans Ltd Ab and Cont-Service Ltd/Ab, which were subsidiaries of the SMC Service group. After the acquisition, the Avind Group’s revenue from warehousing, port handling and container transport will increase to approximately 35 million euros and its staff to 110. The combined entity is the largest logistics company in Finland specialising in the inland transport of sea containers.
We acted as advisor to the seller, SMC Service Ltd.
MEK-Trans Ltd Ab and Cont-Service Ltd/Ab are well-known players in the container transport sector. In the financial year ending September 2023, MEK-Trans had a revenue of approximately 8 million euros and Cont-Service had a revenue of approximately 5 million euros.
